Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley won the judgement against Zeus Funding LLC and its Rachel Noyes, earlier this week in Boston’s Suffolki Superior Court. In August 2006, Coakley’s office sued Zeus Fundinvg as wellas Massachusetts-based ; Rachel manager of both Zeus and New England Merchants; Massachusetts-basex ; and Roberta Robinson, the managee and sole officer of Champagne Associates. The lawsuitf alleged that the defendants used their businessee to deceptivelypersuade low-income resident to purchasing homes and obtain mortgages they consumersx could not qualify for or afford.
Last Coakley settled with NewEngland Merchants, Champagnee Associates Real Estate and Roberta Robinson. Under the terms of the the defendants are prohibited from engaging in any mortgagw brokerage or real estate services in New England Merchants will paya $5,00p0 civil penalty. However, if any one of the defendantsa performs any real estate or mortgage brokerage services in they will face a civil penaltyof
